Race Update :: July 4, 2006
What a great event today! We had strong runners in the various age groups who posted excellent times. Thanks to everyone who participated, and thanks to Heart & Sole Sports for sponsoring prizes.
We want to acknowledge a special individual who participated this morning. Please welcome Lia Moldovan.
Lia came to America from Romania a few years ago. This is what Lia had to say about the race:
This past spring I became an American citizen, and I also visited my home country for the first time in years. I am so happy, so lucky, so blessed to live in America, and what better way to express this gratitude than running at sunrise on the 4th of July?

Course
The race will begin at the South parking lot of Tingley Beach, near the cafe. Runners & walkers will go out of the parking lot and head North down Tingley Beach Drive to Central Ave.
Runners & walkers will then run on the bike path, heading South, past the fishing ponds to the turnaround point. Heading North, make a right at the fishing ponds and a left on Tingley Beach Drive.
The finish will be in the North parking lot of Tingley Beach. Awards near finish line at about 7:15 am. Walkers Welcome!

Awards
Overall 1st and 2nd place male & females will receive a new pair of running shoes, courtesy of Heart & Sole Sports and Brooks Sports. Five year age group awards and many other prizes
